Chesnikova Anna Ivanovna - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine No. 1 of the Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Education "Rostov State Medical University" in  Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, Chief part-time therapist of the Southern Federal District.

In 1985 she graduated from the treatment and preventive faculty of Rostov Medical Institute. In 1994 she successfully completed clinical residency program in the Department of Internal Medicine No.1 of Rostov State Medical University. Since 2003 she has been Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine No. 1.

In 1998 she defended her thesis on "Clinical and pathogenetic features of chronic pulmonary heart and their drug correction." In 2005 she defended her doctoral dissertation "New approach to understanding the pathogenesis and treatment of heart failure in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease."

From 2008 to the present Chesnikova A.I. is Professor of the Department of Internal Medicine No.1. Since 2005 she has had the academic title of Associate Professor, since 2009 - the academic title of Professor.

Chesnikova A.I. has about 250 publications, including 3 monographs, about 30 educational and methodological works. She is a member of the working groups to prepare a number of national clinical guidelines. She successfully participated in more than 20 Russian and International research projects. 14 candidate dissertations were defended under the scientific supervision of Chesnikova A.I.

From 2009 to 2015 she was a Chairperson of the Dissertation Council D 208.082.03 on the basis of Rostov State Medical University.

From 2008 to 2016 she headed the Department of Education Quality Management, Rostov State Medical University.

Since 2017, she has been the Chief part-time Therapist in the Southern Federal District. Chesnikova A.I. is the Board Member of the Russian Cardiology Society, member of the Central Council of the Russian Scientific Medical Society of Therapists, Board member of the All-Russian organization “Society of Heart Failure Specialists”, member of the European Society of Cardiology. From 2008 to the present, Chesnikova A.I. has been the Chairperson of Rostov Regional Scientific-Medical Therapists Society.

She makes annual reports at All-Russian and Interregional forums, actively participating in the organization of congresses and conferences in the region.

She is the member of the editorial board of 9 scientific and practical medical journals and the chief editor of the scientific and practical journal "Southen Russian Journal of Therapeutic Practice".

Chesnikova A.I. has the highest qualification category in "Therapy" and is a member of the relevant certification subcommittee in the Ministry of Health of Rostov Region. In 2010 she was awarded "Excellence in Medical Profession".

In 2015 she was awarded the medal “V.D. Shervinsky” for her participation in the activities in the Russian Scientific Medical Therapeutic Society.

In 2019 Chesnikova A.I.  was the Laureate of the Russian Cardiology Society for her contribution to the implementation of preventive programs.
